How are you, I hope you are in good and healthy condition, so this time I will discuss what a Biography is, types, structure, characteristic and examples.

Definition Biography

Biography is the story of a person's life that is more complex than just a curriculum vitae and work data. Generally, biographies tell more about the feelings faced by someone in dealing with an event or someone's life

Types of Biography

1. Autobiography
Biographical notes written by the character himself. Autobiography is subjective, because it comes from the character's perspective on life..

2. Authorized Biography.
The author gets permission to write the life story of the character.

3. Unauthorized Biography.
Unauthorized biography includes biographies by author. Unauthorized biography is written without permission or without the knowledge of the characters.

Structure of Biography 
There are three structures of biographical text, namely title, orientation, event (problem), and reorientation. Quoting from the Indonesian module, the following is an explanation of the sentence structure:

• Title
The title is at the beginning before the main paragraph. This title contains the name of the character and his services.

• First part orientation
contains information about the background or events to be told. Orientation is an opening sentence to make the reader interested. The orientation section deals with answers to the who, when, where, and why questions.

• Important phenomenon
This event is related to the problems faced by the characters. There is also an interesting, impressive, and moving part of the story of the character's life.

Characteristic of Biography 

A). Has the content of the story or life journey according to the facts of the character's experience.

B). Written in narrative form.
Has a storyline.

C). Telling important events from the characters so that they can be used as role models for readers.

D). Emphasizes orientation structure, important events or events, and reorientation.

Example of Biography

Thomas Stanley Holland 

Thomas Stanley Holland was born on 1 June 1996. He is an English actor. A graduate of the BRIT School in London, he began his acting career on the theater stage in the title role of Billy Elliot the Musical in the West End from 2008 to 2010. He gained recognition for his role in the disaster film The Impossible (2012), receiving the London Film Critics Circle Award Young British Performer of the Year category.

Holland rose to fame for playing Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero films, Captain America: Civil War (2016), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Spider -Man: Far From Home (2019) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). In 2017, twenty-year-old Holland became the second youngest recipient of the BAFTA Rising Star Award.

Thomas Stanley Holland was born on June 1, 1996 in Kingston upon Thames, London, the son of Nicola Elizabeth (née Frost), a photographer, and Dominic Holland, a comedian and writer. His paternal grandparents were born on the Isles of Man and Tipperary, Ireland, respectively. He has three younger brothers: twins Harry and Sam (born 14 February 1999)[8] and Patrick "Paddy" (born 2004).

Holland was educated at Donhead, a Roman Catholic school in Wimbledon, South West London, continuing his education at Wimbledon College until December 2012. Holland said he was bullied at school for being a dancer. After Wimbledon College, he attended The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon. Holland first learned gymnastics while performing in Billy Elliot the Musical. In his late teens, Holland attended a carpentry school in Cardiff, Wales.
