How are you, I hope you are in good and healthy condition, so this time I will discuss what a Biography is, types, structure, characteristic and examples.

Definition Biography

Biography is the story of a person's life that is more complex than just a curriculum vitae and work data. Generally, biographies tell more about the feelings faced by someone in dealing with an event or someone's life

Types of Biography

1. Autobiography
Biographical notes written by the character himself. Autobiography is subjective, because it comes from the character's perspective on life..

2. Authorized Biography.
The author gets permission to write the life story of the character.

3. Unauthorized Biography.
Unauthorized biography includes biographies by author. Unauthorized biography is written without permission or without the knowledge of the characters.

Structure of Biography 
There are three structures of biographical text, namely title, orientation, event (problem), and reorientation. Quoting from the Indonesian module, the following is an explanation of the sentence structure:

• Title
The title is at the beginning before the main paragraph. This title contains the name of the character and his services.

• First part orientation
contains information about the background or events to be told. Orientation is an opening sentence to make the reader interested. The orientation section deals with answers to the who, when, where, and why questions.

• Important phenomenon
This event is related to the problems faced by the characters. There is also an interesting, impressive, and moving part of the story of the character's life.

Characteristic of Biography 

A). Has the content of the story or life journey according to the facts of the character's experience.

B). Written in narrative form.
Has a storyline.

C). Telling important events from the characters so that they can be used as role models for readers.

D). Emphasizes orientation structure, important events or events, and reorientation.

Example of Biography

Leonardus Jonatan Christie

Leonardus Jonatan Christie was born on September 15, 1997. He is an Indonesian men's singles badminton player. He is from the PB. Tangkas Specs, Jakarta.

In July 2013, he won his first senior international title at the age of 15 at the Indonesia International Challenge, after defeating Alamsyah Yunus in the final with a score of 21-17, 21-10. In 2014, in the Indonesia International Challenge tournament, he also reached the final but lost to South Korean veteran Lee Hyun-il in a match of 5 sets, 10-11, 11-9, 11-5, 8-11, 3-11. In 2013 and 2014, Jonatan along with Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Ihsan Maulana Mustofa were Indonesia's mainstays in the BWF World Junior Championships and the BWF Asian Junior Championships. During the championship, Jonathan always lost in the quarter-finals in the individual championship.

In 2015 Jonathan increasingly participated in senior tournaments at a higher level such as the Grand Prix, Grand Prix Gold, Super Series and Super Series Premiere. He was also Indonesia's mainstay at the 2015 Sudirman Cup, 2015 Sea Games, Thomas Cup 2016, 2017 Sudirman Cup and 2017 Sea Games. At the 2015 Indonesia Open Superseries Premiere, he managed to beat Korean veteran Lee Hyun Il in the second round although he ended up stalling in the second round. quarter final.

A year later he managed to beat the best player of all time, Lin Dan in the 2016 Indonesia Open Super Series Premiere tournament with a score of 21-12 21-12. He won the men's singles gold medal at the 2017 Sea Game after defeating Khosit Phetpradab with a score of 21-19, 21-10. In the 2017 Korea Open Super Series tournament, surprisingly he and his partner Anthony Sinisuka Ginting managed to create the All Indonesian Final even though in the end he gave up on his opponent with a rubber set battle 13-21, 21-19, 20-22. This is Indonesia's achievement after nine years of absence from making the final among Indonesian badminton players in the men's singles number. The last time Indonesia was able to make the All Indonesian Final in the men's singles event was the 2008 Indonesia Open Super Series Premiere tournament.
